Lesley S. - Austin Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Lesley S.

Part-Time, 1 Year of Experience

I recently worked with a family blessed with a beautiful son who has Autism. The experience was something I never imagined it would be. Caring for someone with special needs was a bit of a challenge, but truly was a wonderful experience. I have a tremendous amount of patience for children in general, however, I saw more patience blossom as I worked with this young boy. I have also dealt with a history of diabetes in my family, as well as a history of asthma, epilepsy, and a mother with cancer who was bed bound for six months. I am passionate for those who strive to better themselves but just need an extra push to do so. Those with special needs are no less than a healthy person, and I have come to realize that as I have made friends with many with special needs. I am willing to take on new experiences.
Related Hobbies and Interests
Arts and crafts, reading, going for walks, watching movies, the outdoors, and interacting with people. I find it intriguing to communicate with people of different circumstances than my own. I adapt quickly to others and am willing to take on anything.
