Samira J. - Atlanta Special Needs Caregiver

Profile of Samira J.

Part-Time, 1 Year of Experience

My experience caring for people with special needs includes children with autism, children with cerebral palsy, adults with limited mobility due to accidents or other conditions, and individuals/children with speech delays or other developmental delays. My childhood years were spent growing up next to a children's home in which I occasionally baby-sat and assisted with children with special needs. Upon entering college, I realized that my desire was to be a speech therapist. Through my school and my church, I began getting involved helping individuals who needed assistance moving around in or outside their homes, children with autism and other speech delays, and friends/family who needed assistance after accidents or other situations. I have now graduated with my undergraduate degree in Speech Therapy from Georgia State University and I am thankful to say that my classes and professors have given me a deeper understanding on working with people with special needs or temporary disabilities.
