People in my family tend to live into their late 80's and 90's. I love my family and the older generation especially. I have done a variety of things to assist my elderly loved ones, as well as the elderly in my community. For years, I have done everything from errands, to housework, to meal preparation. I've assisted elderly loved ones as they have recovered from surgeries and when they have been bedridden. I love my grandmother; she is one of the dearest people in the world to me. I like to think that if her loved ones could not give her the care and assistance she needs, that those who did would love and care for her as if she were their grandmother, too. I also believe that companionship is very important; we all get lonely and we all need people to talk to. To me that is the best part of working with the elderly. We both make a friend!
