I worked in a retirement community. My duties included assisting, dressing and grooming the patients; feeding patients when necessary, assisting with the transfer of patients with the use of mechanical equipment; assisting patients with restorative care, helping patients to maintain bowel and bladder continence; assisting with recreational adult activities for patients, monitoring patient intake and output; taking and recording patient vital signs, weight, etc.; reporting any change in patient status to assigned nurse, taking proper precautions for patients who are isolated or have a high fall risk level.
I have always found it to be a pleasure caring for people, I am currently employed part time at a hospital. Being able to help others by providing them with the best level of care has always remained a personal goal.
