I have good success with not only senior men but senior women as well, especially those suffering with Alzheimer's dementia. Elder care provides an opportunity for the delivery of services to your loved one which may have waned over time for whatever reason. My training has been in the healing sciences being trained as a Certified Nurse Assistant, Home Health Aide, and Patient Care Technician. Supplementing these skills, and one's enhancing my effectiveness with dementia and other forms of changing health conditions, is my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. This allows for the handling of situations, both emotional and cognitive which will ease the patient's state of stress, frustration, depression, and anger due to the decreasing ability to cope with life's situations. Adapting to change may be an easy task for you and me, but for your loved one, experiencing a progressive degeneration of capabilities adds to a sense of helplessness, anger, frustration, low self concept, and depression. My task is to promote a sense of capability, self worth, confidence, and happiness. To achieve these ends are the services I offer.
To reach these goals, I offer a full compliment of Assisted Daily Living Skills (ADLS), Bathing, Feeding, Nutrition, Restorative Care, Toileting, Medication Cues, and Recording, Infection Control, Oral Care, Vital Signs recording and monitoring, Reader, Companion, Cognitive Exercise, Flexibility and Range of Motion Exercise, Bio Rubs, Hydration, Flexion and Extension of Large Muscle Groups and Joints, and more. Conditions of loved ones for whom I care, generally include: aging seniors, Alzheimer's, arthritis, chronic pain, COPD, depression, diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson's, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, incontinence, overactive bladder, and stroke.
All care is individualized and tailored to the needs of your loved one.
Background check and references are available upon request.
Travel: To your Doctor appointment, to vacation at New Smyrna Beach, to New York, London, Paris, etc., in the USA and overseas.
Sometimes you travel because you want to, sometimes because you need to. Whatever the reason, planning a trip can be logistical nightmare for caregivers. But there are ways to smooth the journey. So often vacations and travel plans can be encumbered by our elder family members especially when complicated by Alzheimer's dementia, physical challenges such as incontinence, a physical disability, or personality changes brought about by changing health conditions. Although you do your best to comfort them and meet their needs, occasionally times occur when you feel resentment and guilt regarding grandpa's or grandma's intrusion into your all too short vacation, holiday, trip, or cruise. The resultant anxiety just eats away.
As a caregiver you give your utmost willingly, sometimes sacrificing your own peace of mind and family harmony. Secretly you may even wish that these circumstances would just go away. If only you had some help which would relieve the demands made on you - a caregiver, someone who could travel with you, someone licensed and skilled in methods and procedures in caring for your loved one's physical and emotional needs. Once your peace of mind is secured, your stress free "R and R" becomes a reality.
Finding that type of caregiver, someone in whom you have confidence, someone with maturity, reliability, and dependability, and most importantly, someone with whom your loved one can relate is an arduous task, a stressful, time consuming task. A traveling caregiver is the answer.
For inquiries and any questions call me to discuss your plans.
Traveling groups: I also extend my services to groups, usually seniors or elders who would like a skilled care giving professional to accompany them on their travels and assist as needed. Needless to say that group size is limited by the degree of care I need to provide.
I will not depersonalize my services by taking on a group too large to be managed.
The group service is a fun way for friends to be with friends while having the security of knowing that their individual needs will be attended. It's fun for everyone. Thank you.
