I actually have not taken care of seniors, but I love older people. I am a social work student at UNT and I recently took a psychology class on adult aging and development. It sparked a desire in me. I loved my grandmother so much and have never stopped thinking about her for a day and she has been gone for 10 years. I have recently also volunteered at the Association for Independent Living (AFIL) where I worked with young adults with developmental disabilities on a high functioning level. I loved it and I am still volunteering there when I can. I am going to school to be a social worker because of my great love of people and desire to help people. I am a 37-year-old mother of 3 boys and I have mostly stayed home with them since I had my first one at age 18. I worked at a few day care centers when I was around 19 and 20 and when I was about 27, I got my real estate license and worked as an apartment locator for about a year and a half. I stopped working to stay home with my children. I am anxious to help people and ready to work.
