Since I was young, I learned what it was like to care for a person. I began caring for my disabled uncle every day after school. My duties were fairly simple. I did light housekeeping and helped him get up and around he house. I never thought of pursuing this profession until recently when I was offered a position to care for a gentleman who ended up being very dear to me. I would cook his meals, drive him to appointments and errands. We would go on walks, work on several house projects, and sometimes just by sitting and visiting together. He was a wonderful man to have worked for! Working for him made care giving a possible career choice for me to continue pursuing in my future.

The second client, who I currently care for part-time, is 91 years old. She's been diagnosed with dementia, Alzheimer's, and pernicious anemia. She also suffers from a broken heart, as a result of losing her husband of 50 years. All very challenging conditions to deal with. We spend our time together talking, doing her nails, running errands, getting ice cream, sitting by the pool, and visiting with her family.

I hope to connect with someone so I can assist in giving them a better quality of life. A person who is in need of a caring, down to earth companion, who is willing to go the extra mile in order to empower their will to live a better, happier life.
