I am hoping to change careers from being a para educator for special ed children with moderate to severe disabilities to being a caregiver for seniors, so my experience in relation to being a caregiver is the same as it is when working with children with special needs. And that is to be caring, compassionate, competent, patient and most importantly have a love for this type of work. My mom is 81, my dad will turn 86 in August and my step-mom is 81 and I am grateful they are still in pretty good health though each of them have minor health concerns. But to be blessed by having my parents still around, I am very aware of a lot of the issues that come with aging. I know I am a very caring & loving person who wants to be a caregiver for a senior and give them everything they need from a caregiver.
