As a certified professional, independent provider/state tested nurse assistant, providing homemaker personal care services to individuals has always been a goal and a pleasure to me. 14 years ago, I learned I had an eagerness to listen and learn about many clients' needs. The need to provide services became important to me. I began to feel the privilege of knowing I can make a difference in an individual life. Their hopes lead me on a journey of providing not only the best care but excellent care. I believe, by following and having the same beliefs as the state using state laws, rules and regulations aligns itself with my own beliefs. These beliefs motivated me to link up with an agency that would allow me to work in many nursing homes, hospitals and community environments. This encouraged me to adapt to new situations with effective communication. I've assisted and supervised many senior citizens with compassion. I deliver high quality of care with dignity and respect. I encourage individuals to maintain their strength of mobility and strengthening the skills that have been weakened. I assist and supervise individuals with daily hygiene, prepare meals and snacks. I enjoy seeing a smile on my client's face whenever services was needed; this includes the events/activities we participated in together. Being a companion, an organized self-starter, a creative problems solver, I strongly believe services provided to individuals are truly a focus on their needs meaning the clients likes and dislikes. I encourage and help individuals continue their lives with love, laughter, patients and comfort while using safe/effective methods with a clear emphasis on positive and proactive interventions. In the health care field we must use universal precaution for the safety of the consumer and the employee. I also serve as a strong and effective advocate for individuals. I demonstrate the ability to document services in an accurate and objective manner. I will promote and practice justice, fairness, and equity for the people I support and the community as a whole. I agree to recognize that each individual has potential for lifelong learning and growth. I will represent the best interests of people who cannot speak for themselves by finding alternative ways of understanding their needs, including gathering information from others who represent their best interests. The skills I acquire will ensure and restore balance back into families lives so that their love ones can remain at home.
