I have compassion for helping patients deal with illness, while also engaging the family in the process. Other skills required are to help prevent disease and advocate health while having highly technical skills to work with complicated equipment, observe conditions and record the observations. My qualifications includes performing treatments and assisting direct care for the patient and often interact with concerned family members. I help the patients get ready for the exam by asking questions about the condition and taking preliminary vital signs such as blood pressure and weight. Then, I assist the doctor with the examination and perform required tasks, such as giving injections and cleaning wounds. I update the patients' records and often discuss follow-up options or at-home responsibilities with the patient. I can perform administrative duties and supervise other nursing staff, continually assessing the health of the resident. I also perform tasks like installing IVs, catheters and other monitoring equipment. Other duties include overseeing rehabilitation programs.
