I have been working in an adult home and also taking care of an 80 year old couple. They have become a part of my family. I clean, do laundry, groceries, handle their medication, bring them to appointments, and also personal care such as showers.

After reviewing Susan's profile, I emailed her to discuss my family's needs. We ended up speaking on the phone and then met a week later for lunch and my sister and I both thought Susan would be a good fit with our family. After lunch we brought Susan to my parent's home so they could meet. They liked Susan as well! I spoke with Susan again on the phone to see if she was interested in taking the job. She stated she was very interested in helping out my Mom and would work every Tuesday & Friday from 9 to 2:30, starting the following Tuesday. The Saturday before she was to start, I called to confirm what time she would be at my parent's home and she sounded terrible. She was very sick and told me she was going to the doctor but should be better by Tuesday. On Monday I received a text message from her stating she was still sick and wouldn't be able to make it on Tuesday but would definitely be there on Friday. Yesterday morning I sent a text to Susan to see how she was feeling and if she was well enough to start on Friday. I did not receive a reply. I then called her last night and left the same message on her voicemail. I received no reply. I called again this morning at 8 a.m. and asked that if she would please let me know if she was going to be at my parent's house or if she was no longer interested in working with my Mom so that I didn't waste any more time trying to find someone. Again, no reply. Needless-to-say, I'm very disappointed but am happy that we found out now rather than months down the road.
