Approximately five years ago, I assisted with the care of my mother, who was dying from lymphoma. It involved cooking for her, engaging her in limited activities, encouragement and the necessary physical care needed, such as toilet care, etc. This lasted approximately one year. I feel that my experience with young children is applicable in dealing with older adults in that many of the same needs apply to both extremities of age. I enjoy working with children and with older adults.
