I have learned so much from my last job at an assisted living home. I truly enjoyed my job and would still be working there today if it didn't close for good. I would typically work the 7-3 shift which I would come in every morning and I was responsible for up to 10 residents and making sure they were up out of bed or waking them up. I would go to each residents room and for almost all of them, I would have to do the self administrated medication management, make their beds and clean up their room, help them get dressed and make sure they get to breakfast on time. My other duties I had were assisting with showers, laundry, doing activities, sometimes taking their lunch/dinner order then bringing a tray to their room, basically assisting with all daily living activities. I have also worked for a person privately where I did showering, dressing, preparing meals, keeping the house clean, doing errands, range of motion exercise daily, positioning, transfers and using a Hoyer lift daily. I really love being in this field and being able to help people and I really want to go on to school to get my Bachelor's Degree and be a registered nurse someday.
