I used to be an activities director for 4 years in CA. I truly enjoy sharing life with seniors. Their life experiences are so valuable to our future. They have so much valuable information for all of us today. My grandmother and I were very close. I learned how to love and appreciate her generation by just being with her and volunteering. Really taking the time to do life with them. I worked in three different SNF's. Two of those SNF's, had Convelescent on one side and Retirement Living on the other. I was an activities director for both sides. As an activities director, you not only create and implement activities on a daily basis but you are their family when their family has no time for them. You laugh, cry, groom, paint nails, help dress and encourage them to be active and to not give up. Sometimes you're their only friend.
