My father found himself a widower and with fairly advanced Parkinson's in '04. I and my family (wife and four kids) brought him to our town, and, after not finding assisted living, and then nursing home care that we were settled with leaving him with, we bought a different house and moved him in with us. He lived with us for three years until he passed away. I'm thankful for the experience and opportunity we had. We had to work through many issues in his health as he became unable to swallow well (he had a stomach tube put in), and then became bedridden (we had much experience overcoming bed sores). Now I am interested in seeing if there might be an elderly man in need of some kind of help on whatever level that it might be beneficial to have some male assistance for. I can offer character references if needed, also. I am looking for some evening, night or weekend time-frames to help someone. Please call with any questions.
