I have been volunteering with a hospice company for the past 2 years. I have visited patients in assisted living centers as well as their homes. In the past, I have fed the elderly and helped them with arts and crafts. I am certified by the American Heart Association in the BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) Program. I have a special place in my heart for the elderly most likely because of my grandparents. I'm also in awe of them because of how much has changed since they grew up. I have a great respect for them and all they have done to contribute to our world today. It's a shame that my generation does not have enough appreciation and compassion for the older generations. I am currently on sabbatical from medical school to seek out a possible vocation to a religious community. In the meantime, I'm seeking to start paying off my debt by spending time with your beloved senior to offer a friendly visit, run errands, do light housekeeping, prepare meals, assist with activities of daily living and other activities as needed. I have just completed a CNA training program and plan on becoming certified in March.
