I have cared for an elderly couple in their late 80s for the past two years. My responsibilities was to get them up at 8 a.m. every other morning and the last 6 month I would see them Mon. through Friday and sometimes on Sat. morning.
My daily responsibility was to make sure they were bathed and dressed. I would fix their breakfast, clean up the kitchen, make sure they took their pills, took the trash out and bring the newspaper in. Once a week I would run the vacuum, dust, change the bedding and cleaned the bathroom.
Once in a while I would take them out to diner, doctors, and hair appointments.
At times I would apply antibiotic and wrap his leg when infected.
I consider myself to be a very compassionate person and I enjoy helping people who cannot help themselves. It gives me a good feeling by giving to others.
I have non-paid experience caring for my Mother from 1994 to 2004.
