Other Qualifications, Certifications and Credentials
I have cared for a number of clients.
I am a caring person and enjoy helping others. I would be available as a caregiver to work weekends to care for the elderly who can no longer be left alone. I am a very dependable and a patient person. I would tend to their needs as instructed to be sure they took medications as prescribed and serve them healthy meals. I would try to implement an exercise routine if requested. As a caregiver I would hope to...
As a caregiver I would hope to spend quality time trying to share in their interests to make their life more upbeat and meaningful. I am a great listener and would love to hear their stories or just plain chit-chat depending on what would make them feel more comfortable. On the other hand, I have no problem if they would prefer not to have conversation. I feel I am very easy to get along with. I would hope for the client to look forward to my weekend stays.
My most recent positions included the care of a woman living in Lake Bluff taking her grocery shopping and other errands, cooking and companionship and a woman living in Lake Forest from Friday evening to 7 a.m. on Monday. I helped with meals, getting to bed, showers, dressing, driving to appointments, letting the dog out.
I have cared for a number of elderly relatives and friends. When my mother and godmother were alive, I attended to their every need. My mother lived with me and my two children. She had polio as a child which affected the left side of her body. I monitored their blood pressure and did diabetic testing. I took them to doctor appointments, pharmacy and monitored medication, scheduled other medical appointments, drove on errands and to senior center.
I also helped my mother with her father who had dementia with bathing, haircuts and shaving as a young woman since my mother had a slight handicap from her polio.
I cared for my sister-in-law in the spring after a stay in the hospital. She came to my home and I took care of her.
I have a full-time job and have been employed there for 25 years. My current role is customer service in a very fast paced industry. I am looking for a part-time job to care for someone needing my companionship and services to tend to their needs and would hope to continue in this field after I retire since I personally find this type of work very rewarding.
