I do have over 10 years experience tending to a 100% disabled turn semi-paralyzed man. I learned the simple things to the most difficult ways to be able to take care of my father. I checked his blood sugar, blood pressure, heart rate, his lungs for liquid, maintained his peg/feeding tube clean, administered his formula thru a continuous feeding machine & by hand, changed his pamper & liners, bathed him, clothed him, cooked & cleaned for him, transferred him manually from bed to where he wanted to be situated & with a hydrological swing, speech-occupational-physical therapy and a bit of respiratory therapy. I was able to teach my father to sit up by himself & to stand for about 30sec. taught him to hold his sipy cup and hold his spoon/fork when his esophagus became strong again after teaching him to eat & drink like a big boy. I administered first aide to any cut or scratch he may have given himself. I was my fathers 24/7, 365-including leap year, no holidays or sick days off, live-in total home health care provider.
