I have worked as a patient care tech in assisted living facilities. I have had training to deal with patients with alzheimers and other forms of dementia. I can take vitals, administer medications, bathe bedridden patients, cook and clean, as well as provide companionship to lonely elderly men and women. I don't have a car right now, but I do have a valid license and can drive patients to appointments when necessary. My passion for caring for the elderly basically came about from being with my mother when she would do caregiving for the elderly. I noticed how they would liven up when she would come around, and how their quality of life improved. I also had to take care of my father, when he was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and his health rapidly declined. Luckily I was a housewife, so I could afford to be there for him. I know there are families with sick parents and they can't afford to provide the care themselves, and I want to be able to provide reliable, compassionate care to their loved ones.
