I am a social worker with several years of experience working with families in a variety of clinical settings. I am very passionate about caring for seniors which came from taking care of my own ailing grandparents, as well as caring for the elder caregivers of the children and youth I worked with. As their needs were complex and varied, I created support groups for elder caregivers who were struggling to take care of their adolescent grandchildren. These groups focused on self care, attending to their physical and mental health needs, as well as other issues.

Professionally and personally, I understand the developmental and medical challenges that arise as people get older and retire. As my own parents move toward older age, I have become acutely aware and sensitive to their changing needs. Physical health is also extremely important to me and I love motivating people to exercise, including my mother and some senior friends who were previously completely averse to working out. I continue to see firsthand how an appropriate exercise routine, even light walking, can improve mental health such as reducing geriatric depression and stress, especially in a challenging financial environment.

I have provided care for clients, family and friends of various ages and socioeconomic backgrounds and in doing so have developed a sensitivity and strength that I believe is required. I have worked with youth and adolescents, their family members, peers (my own family member who suffers from manic depression), and the elderly and I would love the opportunity to further discuss my experiences and the ways in which I might be a good fit for your loved one.
