Work Experience

11/06 to 01/07 Coral Trace Health Care Center

I was Director of Nursing for this 250-bed facility. I was responsible for all nursing activity, employee discipline, regulatory compliance and oversaw risk management. I left to return to Evansville to marry.

10/05 to 11/06 Extendicare Health Services, Inc.
Regional Director of Clinical Services

I was a Regional Nurse Consultant for five nursing homes in Indiana and Kentucky. I was responsible for regulatory and nursing oversight. My responsibilities included assisting nursing staff and Directors of Nursing with clinical assistance. Additionally, I oversaw Dietary, Social Services and Activity Departments. I was responsible for regulatory compliance and while there, four of my five homes received the "Quality Awards" for
meeting survey goals.

I provided in-service education to the staff of my customer facilities. I also performed mock surveys, assisted with POCs (Plans of Correction) and IDRs (Informal Dispute Resolutions). I was an authorized provider of CEUs by the Alabama Board of Nurses. I was and am a member of the American Geriatrics Society and the American Nurse's Association.

Long Term Care Surveyor (Inspector)

Inspected long term care facilities throughout the State of Alabama for compliance with Medicare and Medicaid regulations. This included all aspects of care such as Social Services, Nursing, Dietary, Pharmacy, Abuse investigations etc.
