I have been caring for my father for almost 2 years. He suffered a stroke over 5 years ago. Since his stroke, he has had very limited mobility in both his fine and gross motor skills, as well as in his balance. Since moving into my home, he has learned to tie his own shoes, dress himself, shower with assistance, change his own depends underwear, walk with a cane on good days, and shave. He continues to need assistance with his medication, house cleaning, and basic monitoring to ensure he is safe.
I am now free to work outside the home for up to 8 hours overnight or during the day. I have a strong passion for helping others in the area of basic care, counseling, and building positive working relationships. I have had this passion since I was a child and have centered my career on helping others from childhood through adulthood.
