Both of my parents passed away. Caring for elders gives me the feeling I am caring for my loved ones that I have lost. My experience caring for the elderly was with my own parents. I cared for my mother for 4 years, and for my father for one year. Both had heart disease and my father was blind, too. I made sure they took their medicine and meals on time, helped them bathe and dressed, took them to the doctor on a regular basis, for their physicals. I also kept the physician informed of any issues.
