I am a nurse assistant registered with the state of Washington. When I was just out of high school I went to work in a nursing home. I was there for about 2 years and then moved on to other things. I now have been working on occasion at an adult family home for over a year. I was employed prior to that in the billing office of a medical clinic for 10 years. The past 4 years I found myself having to take care of my father who has Alzheimer's. I see first hand how it can take a toll on a caregiver who is also working full time. In 2010 I was laid off from my job of 10 years, so I found myself wanting to get back to care giving. I have a loving and caring heart and I worry about young children and the elderly not getting the care they need. My sisters and I moved my father several times before we found a place we felt my father was safe in. I now on occasion work at the adult family home he lives in.
