I have been a caregiver for the elderly for four years, but I have been a caregiver for physically disabled adults and special needs kids, since 2000. As a caregiver for the seniors, I have helped with Activities of Daily Living, a little bit of meal preparation, encouraged them to engage in activities (worked in Assisted Living Facility), and I collaborated with their physicians/lead case workers, to provide the best care for them. I noted changes in physical aspects and behavior, and report to families and other care providers. I treat them like family, as loved ones, making sure that their needs are satisfied. Which leads to what I find most rewarding: little moments with my clients were they intimated that I have helped make the rest of their lives, better.
