I have 10 years of experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). During my tenure, I have routinely provided: personal health care, such as bathing, dressing or grooming to the elderly, convalescent or disabled patients in their homes or in a residential care facility.

While with a patient, I make certain that I read to them and converse about diverse topics of interest to them.

Furthermore, I supported services under the supervision of the appropriate professional staff that assists the clients or families in the achievement of physical and emotional comfort according to the physicians' orders.

Personally, I'm very passionate about helping senior citizens because of my personal experience with my mother who passed away. I have to say that I took care of her every need with patience and care until she finally passed away.

The patience and understanding of a person in a difficult life situation is something that I possess. It is also an attribute that I believe, enables one to persevere in this line of work. Many of my colleagues have told many over the years how unique my qualifications are in that regard. I can honestly say that I am extremely proud of that. It is a testament of "who" I am!

-I regularly entertain my patients by conversing with them openly; I also read aloud to them knowing full-well that this keeps them mentally healthy and alert.

-I perform a variety of duties as requested by clients, such as obtaining household supplies and running various errands.

-I plan, purchase, prepare, and serve meals to patients and other family members, according to their prescribed diets and needs.

Finally, I provide patients and families with sincere emotional support and instructions in areas such as infant care, preparing healthy meals, independent living and adaptation to disability or illness.
