I have experienced care giving for quite a few years. It started with a friend with cancer, later on my mother needed care as she became bedridden and when she passed I continued in this line of work. My work has included Alzheimer's patients and cancer patients as well as just ordinary folks getting a bit older and needing help in various ways, such as household chores, driving them to their places of appointments, companionship, and general assistance within the home and on outings. We are all getting older no matter what our age and needing a bit of help and/or companionship as we age and this is more and more evident as we live longer lives and we should have people that not only want to take on this kind of work, but really enjoy being with folks that need us. I love gardening, movies, driving, reading, painting and writing. It is a most rewarding kind of job, knowing that you are not only providing a service but enjoy it at the same time. Being there for those in need is indeed rewarding.
