My only true experience with the elderly has been taking care of my own parents. Although they live independently, my mother is physically disabled and both parents are in very early stages of dementia. I am very familiar and comfortable with dressing/bathroom/bathing needs. I understand the necessity to work at their pace, speak slowly and clearly, only expect one chore to be accomplished at a time - although I am a fabulous multi-tasker, the elderly are usually not.
