I have been an activity director at an assisted living in Georgetown and worked for individual families, caring for their parent with dementia or Alzheimer's. I am a very compassionate person and I have always enjoyed older people. My grandmother lived with us growing up and my parents were in their mid forties when I was born. When my church started a respite care for Alzheimer participants, I volunteered and that is how I became initially interested in doing elder care for work. It gives me joy and satisfaction in helping other people feel safe and cared for.
