One of the best jobs I've ever held was at a nursing home in Rochester, Michigan. I loved the job because I loved being around the wonderful folks who lived at the home and I believe that's when my passion for the elderly was sparked. In addition, I was very close to my Grandma and Grandpa who both recently passed away at ages 87 and 92 respectively. To be honest, I have no experience caring for ailments or any type of medical condition (that's not to say that I wouldn't or that I couldn't be trained). However, I am a warm, friendly, caring, person who possesses a genuine love for people and who would be willing to spend hours interacting (talking, reading, playing cards) with your loved one in addition to cooking their meals, light housekeeping and laundry, and running any brief errands that might need to be done. I have a wonderful husband and three beautiful children of my own, so I am well aware of what needs to be taken care of on a day-to-day basis.
