Hi, my name is Kathy. I am a CNA with over 12 years' experience in a hospital on Geri-Psyche and Medical Surgical, Alzheimer's and Dementia and Activities units and departments in skilled nursing facilities. My own parents were older while I grew up, so it was only natural that I would lean towards geriatrics and seniors. My mother was a hospital cook who taught me how to prepare foods from mechanically soft to pureed, and bland to regular. This is helpful to those with dietary restrictions and swallowing issues. My experience as an Activity Aide/CNA helped me focus on passive range of motion exercises to strengthen limbs and motor skills. I have also worked with clients who needed assistive devices for their computers and medical equipment. My ideal working assignment would be one more for a home than wages, since my own family is deceased. I have a valid driver's license but not a car at this time. I do have a current Illinois CNA Certificate, State of Illinois Background Check and TB test.
