I am the middle of three sisters, being raised in Los Angeles then moving to San Diego while still a teenager. I finished at La Jolla High School then went on to San Diego State College as a Music major in Piano for five years. I finished schooling in New York City and much of my adult life was devoted to my music while at the same time finding full-time jobs in order to pay the bills!

I returned home to San Diego in 1988. Our parents had a small decorating business in the La Jolla area for many years. During the mid 1990s or so, there were times when ailing or aging customers of our parents needed assistance in their homes, and our mother would refer me as she trusted my genuineness and judgement and knew I would be able to help people with their needs (usually health-related concerns, chores, meals, errands, et al) for a reasonable fee. It worked out very well for all concerned. One lady was in late stages of lung cancer and mostly bedridden - I would prepare her meals and feed her, bathe her in evenings, sit up with her and joyously watch TV or play dominoes or chat or the like, do light housekeeping inside and out, and often stay the night when her adult family was unable to do so. There were a number of other similar job situations where I worked for her aging customers (yet there are no job references available representing those particular years of work.)

Presently, I live in an apartment in the Kensington area of San Diego and attempt to pursue a small freelance photography business. Also, for the last few years, I have continued to find seniors needing assistance in their homes of varying degrees who were looking for a sincere and concerned caregiver - and alas! Here I am!

A job recently ending: I had been aiding an 85-year young lady at her home in Mira Mesa 3 afternoons a week, 2-hours each day. She used a walker but able to move about pretty well. I prepared hot meals for her (if she tried, things would go terribly wrong or get on fire!), I would cut up oranges/fruits or make jello or sandwiches for later (in fridge), help her do exercises, would vacuum and light housekeeping, sit and chat, help her brush her teeth/wash face/brush hair/and dress (if a morning shift), make her bed and all, see that she took her pills or medication, help her walk as she's unsteady on her feet, aid in whatever way needed to see that she felt happy and secure and appreciated. Trips with her for medical attention were occasional as well.
