I have experience with assisting seniors with tasks. I have worked as a companion to a woman that was placed in an assisted living center due to health issues. I was available to help her with occasional grooming tasks and at meal time. I would arrive at the appointed time take my charge for walks in her wheelchair either around the halls or out in the surrounding area if weather allowed. I enjoyed the connection we had and treated her like family. Unfortunately she lost her battle with cancer. I also had the privilege of helping my aunt for three years after she was placed in a rehabilitation center after hip replacement surgery. I loved spending time listening to the stories each of these women had to share. I believe the time I had with these women produced some of my most precious memories. The genuine attachment and pleasure derived from the days was felt by both myself and my "friend" equally. I hope to assist another senior.
