My name is Jennifer. I am a single parent raising four children. My youngest child is a child with special needs/disabilities. I began babysitting at the age of 11 for my bus drivers 6 children. One of my jobs included caring for twins (boy and girl age 2) and their pregnant mother. I not only cared for the family but was also responsible for light housekeeping, meal prep., laundry, and accompanying my employer to doctor 's visits, shopping, etc. I was 15 years old at the time. I have also been employed at daycare centers of which included Rainbow Rascals Learning and Developmental Center where I was employed as a Teachers Assistant in the infant/toddler classroom. I was also employed where I was responsible for the care and educating of children ages 6 months to 5 years. Many of the children I cared for included children with disabilities/and or special needs. I do not have much experience in caring for seniors other than my father. My father has been extremely ill with diabetes, high blood pressure, P.A.D., and heart disease for years now. He recently suffered 3 heart attacks within a 4 month period. On January 4th. 2011 (my birthday), he underwent triple bypass surgery. I have been assisting in the care of my father now for about 4 years. I cook, clean, prepare and am certain that he takes his medicines as prescribed, assist him in getting dressed, walk with him, exercise with him, and of course converse and provide him with my full attention, love, and support. I have also been caring for my mother whom has been residing with me for the last year now. She is also a diabetic and has heart disease. In my opinion, the most precious people in life are children and the elderly. They require our full attention, support, guidance, and love. There is no greater gift in life to me than being able to make a difference in the life of another. I am also currently enrolling in online courses at Raritan Valley Community College. I am hoping to obtain a degree in Child Therapy/Psychology. Please review my profile, references, etc. Feel free to contact me anytime. I will look forward to speaking with and hopefully meeting with you.
