Warm hearted and reliable, currently I am seeking the right private, in-home, live-out caregiver position for a senior or couple who could use daily assistance to make life a lot more comfortable and secure. Can also discuss possibility of Day Care in my home if preferred.

Ideally, looking to commit to a longer term position and my schedule going into a job is flexible so I am more than willing to work with a family to find a timetable that fits everyone.

This will be my first formal undertaking as a caregiver, however I have served in that same capacity for several family members over the years, both senior and not and am a naturally compassionate, organized, detail oriented, very patient and gentle person.

The earliest years of my career were as an Activity Director at a retirement home in Southern California as well as many years working as a nanny and I loved both jobs.

I am not a person who believes in the "that's not in my job description" attitude and tend to go above and beyond in all positions I undertake. The most important thing to me in finding the right match is a sense of open communication between myself and those I care for and their families. It is vital to provide the best care and environment for those I am helping, to feel like I can express observations, concerns or questions without hesitation and vice versa.

Dependent on the needs of the situation, I am open to providing everything from personal care (including hygiene), to medication administration, general housekeeping (I keep a tidy and comfortable home always), exercise (taking walks or as directed) and cooking (I love to cook!). While I do not have a nursing background at all, I am a quick study and willing to learn any specific tasks that may be areas I have not had experience with such as wheelchair transfers and the like. I am a larger framed person, chubby (good cooking will do that to you) and strong, so supporting weight for assistance in walking, dressing, showering is not a problem at all for me.

Healthy and jovial, I'm very much content as a homebody and lead a quiet lifestyle where I enjoy reading, taking walks, some watching of movies, arts/crafts and learning. I am in the process of taking some refresher small business college coursework so I do request access to an internet connection (I provide my own computer) but am otherwise very easygoing in my expectations. While I do drive, I will not have a vehicle to provide transportation.
