I worked as an administrator for a Senior/Nursing Facility and had a very rewarding experience. I enjoyed my interaction with all the patients which included the Alzheimer's unit and their families. I especially enjoyed my time assisting with their various sponsored activities such as bingo, singing, crafts, etc. I found that sometimes the patients appreciated simple things like talking with someone or going out to the courtyard, especially the ones that did not have many visitors. This was an invaluable experience for me to learn first hand how to assist the elderly in a kind, compassionate and respectful manner.
