I cared for a 98-year-old darling woman for two years. I did everything for her from giving her baths, doing her hair, feeding her to singing to her to put her to sleep. I love the elderly as well as young children because they cannot take care of themselves. They show so much appreciation that one usually does not receive from healthy people. I miss her. Older people have so much to offer. Their experience and the interesting stories they tell. I absolutely loved living her life with her. By the end of her life she referred to me as 'Alice'. Over the two year period she went from her current age to a young child.
I have been taking care of a wonderful 85-year-old man for the past 2 1/2 years. He is currently very sick and I do not know what the near future outcome will be. I replaced 3 caregivers. I am organized, loving, trustworthy, kind, intelligent, fun to be around, very capable, and extremely dependable. I have not missed a day since I started, in fact I work many extra shifts. I treat this man the way I would want to be treated. Everyone who meets us thinks that I am his daughter due to the excellent care I provide. NOTHING is ever too much for me to do.
