I am coming from Bosnia where I have finished high school and college. In 1995 I came to Germany where I first started going to school to become a CNA, and started working in a nursing home. In 1999 I moved to WA State and in 2002 moved to NY and to become a CNA. My first job as a CNA in the USA was in Presbyterian Nursing Home, Clinton NY. Since then I have worked in different facilities: Nursing homes, hospitals, agencies and private care. I have worked with different types of clients, Dementia, Alzheimer, and Cancer. My skills include:assists in shower, sponge bath and personal hygiene. I can provide personal grooming, nails, hair and oral care. I am able to transfer the client from bed to wheelchair and offer toileting assistance and incontinence care. I encourage activities in accordance with client's needs and capabilities. I maintain a professional image and demonstrate personal growth. I can work with lift machines, monitor vital signs, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration. I provide documentation of the client's care in appropriate forms. I am able to remind clients of prescribed and/or over the counter medication and report sudden changes of the client's physical, mental or emotional health to the agency or his/her family. I can maintain the cleanliness of client's house, make the client's bed and change the bed sheet regularly, wash and dry the client's clothes regularly, wash the dishes and all kitchen's utensils. I have attended MVCC college in Utica NY. I have taken 30 credits in nursing field. My goal in life is to finish my school in IL, and get my RN license. While I was going to school in NY at same time I was working full time at St Elizabeth's Hospital, and taking care of two teenage kids as single mom. As they say nursing is the toughest job, but I love everything about it. I'm CPR certified. I have a drug screen and background check ready. I also have resume and work related reference.
