In 2001, I was 16, my family and I moved across the street and I've have had the wonderful pleasure of assisting my elderly neighbor in making doctor appointments, providing transportation so she wouldn't have to wait for a taxi or other transportation service. Assisting her weekly to the grocery store or on days when she wasn't up to going, I'd make a list & go for her instead. I am now moving to the Minneapolis (MN) area for school and have already found a replacement for my neighbor so she won't be without help. She is now 96.

When my dad's (late) mom, Mana had Dementia, I helped my aunt care for her once when her care takers were unavailable. I stayed with her, read her stories, fed her lunch, & pretty much did my best to make her comfortable.
