I became a CNA after experiencing close relatives getting sick and eventually dying of diseases. I felt I could help people in their lives. I assisted my mother and aunt in their homes with dementia, health issues and transportation. I would like to help elders keep the quality of life in their homes. I care about and enjoy the company of society's elderly, that so many people just don't seem to care about anymore. They still have so much to share.
The last 2 years I have worked for a couple in their 80's. He had weakness due to stroke and some dementia. I bathed, prepared meals, did housework, helped him exercise and transported them to the doctor and such. He died recently. I still assist his widow with housework and errands occasionally.
