My love for the sick or aged is through the love of Christ who first loved me. I have great compassion for those in need and only through church visitation and elderly family and friends have I any recent experience. My main experience is one-on-one companionship, reading to them, singing when asked, meals, cleaning or whatever needs to be done. I developed a love for the elderly in the 6 1/2 months I worked at Sylvan Nursing Home in Sylvania, Georgia when my children were still small. I am married to a Southern Baptist Minister and we pastor a church in Aiken, SC. I worked most of my life for attorneys doing real estate closings but ministry through church has been, and continues to be, a big part of my life. I have never been paid for caring for individuals, but since my job ended almost two years ago I find myself in need of more fellowship and additional funds.
