I cared for my grandmother, for years, until she made the decision to enter into the nursing home. While caring for her, I did her shopping, ran other errands, did light housekeeping, including laundry, and helped with her personal needs, such as bathing and dressing and taking medications. Most recently, I cared for a dear, elderly woman who was diabetic and has the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. For her, I provided companionship, as well as drove her to various appointments, such as physical therapy and hair appointments.
I believe that our elderly have given so much to us and it's important to return some of that to them.
