I played cards with the individual, made sure he was well hydrated, and assisted with his walker, and other duties, helping in and out of bed, making food he could eat and swallow.

Recently I assisted a woman recovering from knee replacement surgery by making sure her home was safe for her, per her instructions. I also did her laundry, prepared meals, and did housework for this person while she was doing her rehab.

I understand the patience required of a care giver. Some people need lots of care, others just want company, someone polite, and able to talk to them.
