I have in the past cared for my elderly mother-in-law for 3.5 years while she lived in our home. She was debilitated by diabetes. I have also recently lost my mother, and have assisted my father (90 years) through his mourning process. I cannot claim any kind of medical experience. However, I love the wisdom and experience of the elderly and would make a great companion and assistant with daily tasks that they are unable to perform: preparing meals, running errands, taking them shopping, household cleaning, & daily hygiene. I have been a volunteer in a terminal hospital and in nursing homes. I believe that many of our older community have so much to offer, and need encouragement to know that they are still very valuable. I would love to be there to do that for them while helping them with their daily needs.
