It is so hard on working families now a days to keep up with everything. And now that we are in the so called "sandwich generation" its even harder. Taking care of ones own family and working full time and now parents are living longer. Its hard to find good people to help out with them. I've noticed this more and more in recent years. I enjoy being around the elderly. I grew up with older family members living with so this is nothing new to me. Being around the elderly and helping take care of them is second nature to me.
There is an urgent need for senior caregivers. After hearing many people at work having this conversation about their own parents. They didn't know what to do or where to turn. In my own life my partner and I each have elderly parents that we tend to. Being from caring for them or taking them for doctors appointments. I am CPR certified. If a family doesn't have to have the burden and added expenses of moving a loved one to a nursing facility then what better way to help than by being a senior caregiver. Especially when my BA is in Family and Community Services.
