I was self-employed from 1998-August 2011 caring for elderly persons in their homes or who lived with relatives. Some were bed ridden and all had one of the many forms of dementia. I was taught at a young age to lovingly care for those who are aged and to respect their knowledge and sorrow because they can no longer do what they once enjoyed. I am a loving and compassionate person who use these qualities while caring for the elderly. I enjoy working with the elderly, bathing them and caring for all of their personal needs, listening to them tell of experiences in their lives that they can remember, and reading to, and comforting them when needed. I find it a personal commitment and a heartfelt joy, to be able to assistance those who no longer can do all things for themselves.
