I began with care of an elderly friend of mine. He was severely diabetic and became non-ambulatory, hence a shut-in. He administered his own insulin, but I reminded him. I prepared meals, cleaned, did laundry, ran errands, took him shopping. I was there when he passed.

I next worked for a mother and daughter who had joint pain, hence trouble standing and walking. I did housework, minor carpentry, yard work, ran errands, took the daughter to the swimming pool.

I worked for a blind woman. I cleaned her apartment, shopped for her, read her mail to her, and wrote checks for her.

A long-term client was a woman who suffered from mitochrondiamyopathy (muscle cell disorder). Most of my work involved cleaning her home, maintaining her garden, picking up medication, grocery shopping and walking her dog.

I enjoy being a companion/helper. I easily tailor my routine to meet the client's needs of the day. I've stayed late and arrived early to make things work out well. I arrive on time, am energetic and upbeat and an empathetic listener.
