I have been caring for seniors professionally for 1 year through a local senior care company. I found this job through a friend who recommended me as the perfect candidate for the job. Once I began working for the company I quickly realized that caregiving is my passion and it is what I should be doing with my life. Many times in my personal life I was faced with caring for someone I loved. That care came naturally to me and in each case I had a tremendous desire to fulfill the need at hand. At that time I did not know that desire to care for people carried over to all people in need not just family members. I can truly say I am blessed to be doing what I love with my life. Right now I am caring for seniors fulfilling needs from companionship to in-home care assistance. I am a very compassionate and patient person with a huge desire to make people comfortable and feel good about themselves. Some of my duties include: visiting clients in their homes to be a companion, light housekeeping, laundry and ironing, preparing meals, running errands, grocery shopping, attending church, exercising and walking together, doctor & dentist visits, medication reminders, hygiene reminders, assistance with bath or shower, dressing and undressing, transfers for wheelchair bound clients. My goal is to help a senior be as independent as possible in their own environment, at home, or in an assisted living or nursing home with confidence and dignity.
