I cared for both my parents for 10 years in my home, together and separately. My father had a feeding tube and was bed ridden. I did wound care and everything you can think of for him after he left the nursing home. We had a private nurse, but when she could not come, I was the nurse. After he died I took care of my mother who was blind and on a walker and wheel chair, 24-7. She had congestive heart failure and spinal stenosis in her back. I drove her to many medical appointments., and cared for all her needs. My payment was in the form of family property that was willed to me. I presently am employed part- time caring for a man who has stage 4 brain cancer. I have been caring for him for 3 months. I am a college graduate with 35 years art management experience and I am a part time pro. photographer on weekends. I love people and am willing to do whatever is necessary to help a patient feel his best. I assist my patient with crossword puzzles and card games to stimulate his brain activity. My patient has improved and I want to care for more patients as time will permit.
